I have begun posting sermon outlines and previews, as well as supplemental materials on one of my other blogs, Grace Pointe MBC. This will be the official blog of the new church, and will be used for announcements, study helps, and teaching supplement. It will be promoted during worship services. Feel free to visit, then come back here and let me know what you think.
In the days ahead, I plan to reactivate my other blog, MyFaith.com, but probably under a new name. The purpose of this blog will be to promote the Gospel and the truth of God's Word to anyone who reads it. I will be adding other online services as well.
MySpace is a tool that I will use to invite people to church. Hopefully, these added efforts will give us an edge.
God uses life's circumstances to transform us into the persons He intended on us being. Here's my journey...

Slow blogging
I apologize for the slowdown in my blogging activities. While I have had time to read other blogs, I have not had much time to form new devotionals to share, or really put together anything worth reading. The series on Gideon will resume ASAP, though.
My goal for this blog is not to be a daily journal of my feelings, etc. It is intended to be a day-to-day reporting of how God is blessing the work in Brownwood and present that information from the viewpoint of a bivocational missionary (as long as I am bivocational). With the transition taking place, blogging will slow down over the next couple of weeks. Once we are settled in my blogging will resume to its normal pace.
Last weekend, I took the family away for a couple of days of peace and relaxation in Galveston. This week, we have been frantically packing our things in anticipation of the big move Friday and Saturday. We have a trip to see Jessica's family in Colorado Springs planned following our big move. Our evangelical work will begin June 2, with our first in-home service being June 8. My secular job begins July 15. I'll be training with the man I am replacing before going full time Aug. 1.
Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and support.

Online evangelism, discipleship and missions news
This blog, the Mind of Acker, serves to keep you up-to-date with the mission, vision and progess of Mission: Brownwood, periodic Bible devotions, my thoughts on life, and personal news.
My other blog,Grace Pointe MBC, will be a tool to enhance the ministries we have in Brownwood. We might post daily devotionals, and information related to upcoming Sunday School lessons, sermons, Bible studies and Parents of Purpose events. (Parents of Purpose may get its own blog before it's all over).
I've launched another blog, utilizing the blessing of Blogger to spread the Gospel to those who might not hear it from a church pew. The blog is called MyFaith.com. The goal is to lower the barriers that lost people have toward Christianity by avoiding politics and focusing on the central message of Christianity (which I fear, has been lost in many churches.) So anyway, check it out and let me know what you think.

Blog improvements

The above image is a view of U.S. Hwy. 84 in Brownwood, right in front of Underwoods BBQ, one of the top-10 restaurants in Texas.
I've added a few features to my blog. In addition to putting my picture in my profile, I have labeled all of my posts from March. I plan on labeling all posts from here on out.
As such, I have added a label list at the bottom right-hand corner. So, to see what I have to say about a particular topic, you can click on the label and it will show all of the posts with that particular label. Sorry for not having done this sooner, but hey, I'm new to online networking sites.
My other blog,
Grace Pointe MBC, has been rennovated with a whole new look (that is, if you have never seen Matt's Blog.) Sorry Matt. I couldn't find another template I liked. I have added the Grace Pointe link to the list of links to the right.
The Grace Pointe blog is mostly idle right now. When we get started, I plan to use it to supplement our teaching, preaching and Bible study ministries, as well as announcements, and to advertise service times/locations.
God has provided us with wonderful tools to expand and enhance our ministries, and I believe we should use them to the best of our ability... especially to reach the younger generations.
