Brownwood happenings

Things are on fire in Brownwood... literally. A tracer from machine gun fire on the firing range of the Camp Bowie Military Reservation sparked a huge grass fire, the smoke of which could be seen for miles. The fire has been extinguished, and no major property damage was reported (most of the affected area was on the base.)

Temperatures today seem to have peaked at 107 degrees. Dust devils are a very common site in downtown, mainly due to the dry conditions and numerous street construction projects.

Keeping a car washed here is an exercise in futility.
